El sitio "e-learning for kids" que recomendò Margarita, està muy bueno. Me he sentado con mi hijo de 11años, a practicar varios temas de gramàtica. Lo recomendè en el sitio que administro para docentes de Inglès.
Buenos dias Hillary, puedes con mucho gusto contactarte conmigo al correo ademontero@knowledge.com.pa para que nos pongamos de acuerdo para presentarte DynEd e intercambiar ideas gracias por tu interes
Good morning Hillary, thank you for your interest in knowing about the acquisition of the English language, we have a program of English DynEd which students acquire a fun way of the English language, through the use of a laboratory as we are emphasizing the acquisition as we acquire the Spanish language, which is to listen, read, and when we go to school we are taught to read and write, using the same method of learning the skills acquired faster in another language, I invite you to learn more about DynEd on the site www.dyned.com where you can see more about the theories of learning, plus you can contact me e-mail to ademontero@knowledge.com.pa
Our ability to think and communicate through language has marked how we human beings have developed through times. Brain researchers believe that parts of the brain have evolved over time specifically for the purpose of producing and understanding language. DynEd uses these neuroscientific theories about language learning to structure its lessons, both for students and for teachers.
In order to learn a second language effectively the learner requires:
1. Abundant and effective practice: having the opportunity to listen to the target language (in this case English) being spoken frequently, and actually speaking it oneself frequently.
2. Frequent repetition: brain research says that we must repeat a word 11 times to learn it, 100 to 'own' it. This means that with 11 repetitions we may understand what 'suspicious' means, but that we must use it in our own sentences many times to feel comfortable with that word.
3. As we learn English, we must work at our own level of comprehension. This means that the English we are learning must not be too hard (we'd get frustrated) or too easy (we'd get bored).
4. We learn best when we use all our senses: as we listen to a word, we see it visually, or smell it, or touch it (say the word 'rose', see it, touch it, smell it) or use it effectively. Books and workbooks alone are not enough for us to learn to communicate in a second language.
5. Good language learning programs are based on studies of how babies and children learn to speak their mother tongue. We know that children have a silent period when they mostly listen, then learn simple nouns first and then how to connect those nouns with verbs to convey needs ('milk', 'me milk', 'me want milk', and so on). An every time the child said milk, his mother said: 'Does Jack want milk?' Repeating the baby's word and modeling the correct sequence of words until the child masters them.
DynEd teaches students to speak English through practice, repetition, appropiate level of comprehension, multimedia input so that many of the senses are activated a one time, and logical sequencing of language models.
DynEd speeds language acquisition by combining multimedia learning with face to face instruction. We learn new words and sentences with the aid of DynEd's award winning computer program, we expand our vocabulary, and we hear and repeat the correct pronunciation. Hand in hand is the human interaction that helps us 'own' the target language (English), and gives us the chance to practice it in meaningful ways, so we may master it. The English teacher is vital to a multimedia language program, as computers alone cannot do an appropriate job.
I hope that you may invite us to your school, if you teach in Panama, and we may talk about the program you are using and how we may help you enhance your English teaching abilities and your students learn English more effectively.
